Management Team

The executive team has a combined experience of over 80 years.  Together the team has extensive experience, both in payroll and human resource management and value personalized customer service. 

	Bill Smyth, FCGA - President and Founder Bill is a professional accountant by trade, has been involved in the processing of payrolls and human resource management for over three decades. In 1985 he founded a service bureau specifically to service Canadian Film and Television productions, and serviced virtually every major Studio in the US including, Disney, Paramount, Universal, Twentieth Century Fox, etc. In 1989 Bill founded OnPayroll.ca to service clients outside of the entertainment industry.. Bill was the first non-American President of the Independent Payroll Providers Association of the United States, and is a member of The Payroll Group, Canadian Payroll Association and a long time member of the American Payroll Association, where he speaks frequently to Chapters on the topic of Canadian Payroll. He also served on the Board of the Canadian Payroll Association, retiring as Vice Chairman. Bill resides in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. In addition to the Payroll business, until recently he ran a herd of 120 Registered Black Angus Cattle. He has now traded his cattle for boating.
	Natasha Smyth, CPM - Vice President Natasha has been in the payroll and human resources industry for almost a decade. She is responsible for internal and external development of the company. She is a member of the American Payroll Association, the Canadian Payroll Association, the Vancouver Board of Trade and the Company of Young Professionals in Vancouver. She has worked with the Employer Services Advisory Committee for Worksafe BC to improve reporting and payment procedures for employers and reduce paper burden. Natasha has completed the Canadian Payroll Association's Payroll Management Certification Program achieving Certified Payroll Manager.
	Gary Chau, CISSP - Chief Information Officer Gary has been with OnPayroll.ca for over 15 years. Gary oversees our IT Department and is responsible for the overall maintenance of our IT infrastructure. Gary also develops new procedures, works with clients on custom interfaces and researches new technologies as well implements them. Gary, maintains regular certification with CISSP.
	Tracy Rowley, CPM - Manager, Payroll Operations Tracy has been with OnPayroll.ca for over 11 years and brings over a decade of payroll experience to the OnPayroll.ca team. She oversees our payroll operations and is responsible for compliance and ensures we maintain a high level of personalized client service. Tracy has received her certification as a Certified Payroll Manager with the Canadian Payroll Association. She has also received her certificate in Business Administration.
