Q.
What type of equipment do I need in order to access your servers?
A.
You need access to the Internet either through modem dialup or through
your local area network. You also need a PC running Microsoft Windows
2000/XP/Vista/7.
We
supply you with a client program which creates a "window"
to our server right from your desktop.
Q.
Will my data be secure when I'm working over the Internet?
A.
Data transmission between your workstation and our server is encrypted
(128-bit). In addition to our own internal auditing, our Internet
connected routers are monitored by a security consulting firm around
the clock.
Q.
When I dial in, what is the performance like?
A.
Our system conforms to the thin-client computing model. All processing
occurs on the server (OnPayroll.ca) side, only screen information
is transmitted to your computer desktop. Therefore, performance
comes very close to what you would expect from an application loaded
on your local area network.
Q.
What happens when the Internet is "down"?
A.
If you are not able to connect to our servers via the Internet,
you have the option of using a modem to connect directly to our
servers using regular phone lines.
